Are You an Animal Lover?
Hi, all you wonderful animal lovers . . . .
This is pretty simple. Please tell ten (or more) friends to tell ten today! The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it DAILY to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals.
It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'feed an animal in need' for free. It's in a purple box in the middle of the page. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.
Here's the web site! Please pass it along to people you know: http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com

Everybody Needs a Lift
This is such a simple idea - the potential for spreading hope to such a dark and broken world is tremendous!
I'm stepping away from my computer right now to find my rubber stamps that will be the beginning of my contribution to the Hope Revolution.
Where there is life - there is hope!
40 minutes later..... and now I am ready to embark on my part of the mission - -
I know I have loads of other stamps which would fit the bill, but I didn't want to get bogged down trying to find all of them at one time. Now, let's see, where do I need to go today??? The post office, work, probably the grocery store (because I forgot to pick up milk yesterday), oh and then I have the Girlfriends meeting tonight. I'm just so excited to get out there and start planting my seeds of love and hope....probably should get dressed first - don't want to be scaring anyone during this pursuit.

Bits & Pieces
I also had an idea for a shooting star kind of thing and this is what I came up with (after some astute advice from my hubby)

This will probably wind up on my grandson's birthday card - eventually.

Late Christmas / Early Birthday Present

A couple of months ago, when I was out Christmas shopping with my son, we came upon this photo frame and I thought it would be a hoot to frame a goofy picture of him for his dad. Well, neither me nor my son are lightening fast at pulling projects together, so long story short - this Christmas present was just picked up by our friendly FedEx guy yesterday. It is winging its way ... actually rolling along ... toward it's destination in New Mexico (along with a few other trinkets). The smaller pictures are mostly school pictures dating back to kindergarten.

Red Swingline
For Christmas I received the Office Space Survival kit - it had the "baby version" of the Red Swingline. Here you see the full size version (a recent birthday present) in its natural habitat - keeping company with the official Initech mug and my starter piece of flair.

Happy Birthday to me & Peggy & Monica & Will...
Now I need to use some of this stuff to make some thank you cards...
So I got curious about who else was born on this day, so I Googled February 10 and found this:

1763: The Peace of Paris ceedes Canada to Britain
1897: New York Times begins using slogan "All the News That's Fit to Print."
1931: New Delhi becomes the capital city of India
1942: The first ever record 'Gold Disc' is presented to Glenn Miller
1954: Eisenhower warns against US intervention in Vietnam, saying it has potential to turn into a quagmire.
1986: Largest ever Mafia trial, in Palermo, Sicily
1986: Jean Claude Duvalier of Haiti flees the country to France
1890: Boris Pasternak, Russian author.

Stamp Club
Here are the latest installments from the SU stamp club: popping pastels; criss-cross box; and the double-sided sticky letter with glitter.
I was really a spazz and wound up wearing most of what we worked with - luckily my sweater was a nice neutral gray so it went with all the chalk, ink & glitter we used for these projects.

Is there a twelve step program to stop using Blogthings so much?
| You Are a Mermaid |
![]() You are a total daydreamer, and people tend to think you're flakier than you actually are. While your head is often in the clouds, you'll always come back to earth to help someone in need. Beyond being a caring person, you are also very intelligent and rational. You understand the connections of the universe better than almost anyone else. |
Attitude

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.
'Well,' she said, 'today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail.'
So she did and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.
'YEA!' she exclaimed, 'I don't have to fix my hair today!'

Attitude is everything.
Be kinder than necessary,
for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
Live simply,
Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass... It's about learning to dance in the rain.

My Latest Find... (links, links & more links)
http://www.rubberroadadventures.com/index.html
During one of my many blurfing sessions, I happend upon the link listed above - thanks to a link that I found here - which I happened upon because of the daily email I get from Allison - not to be confused with Alison - or another Alison whose blog I also frequent. Anyway, I haven't really explored the Rubber Road Adventures completely, but it looks like a great place to check out techniques and tutorials. Until now, one of the sites I would go to for project instructions was SCS - but I find myself quickly becoming a technique junkie, so if some is good, more is better. So it's time to share some of my other favorite sites to cruise:
There are project videos at AC Moore - or you can pick up free patterns from Joann (click on the projects & more tab) - ooh, or the library of fun stuff here - got to put a plug in for Michael's (I worked for them for a short time when we first moved here) - type the word PROJECTS into the search box, hit GO and thousands of projects will be displayed (including all the supplies you will need that they conveniently stock in their store). One of my all time favorites has to be Carol Duval. I love her show but I don't always get a chance to watch so the website is VERY handy. Another valuable site is DIY (very user friendly & organized site to navigate). Other sites worth checking out are this one (you will have to register with them, but well worth it), or this one, if you like videos go here or (last but not least) this one.
Well, I could stay at this all night - but I've been told there will be no lollygagging about tomorrow morning, so I'd better toddle off to bed! (With just a quick little pit stop to visit my Valentine's cards in progress in the midst of the rubble I call my crafting area.)

Groundhog Day

Girl Friends
I appreciate my girl friends so much! Thank you for always being there for me! I don't know if I express it enough to all of you - but rest assured, you are loved!
Tomorrow at church (http://www.saratogaabundantlife.org/Home.html) we are having our Life Group Rally - that's where we have a room set up with all the groups represented so everyone knows what's being offered. I have the pleasure to be a part of a group called Girlfriends Unlimited. We plan events for ladies 16 years and older - things like country western dance lessons, spa night & other fun activities. I got to use my crafting mojo to update our board for the rally. So if you are a member or find yourself in the area Sunday morning at 9:30 - come on by and check us out.
