He's Off

By now, Josh and all his People to People buddies should be at JFK. Their flight is not scheduled to take off until 7:40 this evening, but getting 25 people through security while keeping them in a group could take a little doing. Luckily, they are in their "traveling uniforms" = khaki pants and their maroon polo shirts. Once I get home, I will be able to post some photos...

LATER....(they are in the air - three hours away from London)

So I took about 30 pictures and totally terrorized my offspring in doing so. As you can tell from his expression here - he was SO ready to get on the bus and hit the road (thereby getting away from the crazy woman with the camera).

And the Excitement Builds...

My household has been in the throes of preparing the young one for his 14-day European trip. From running around getting him clothing & various items for travel to digging out the luggage - to say the least, I've been a little bit more nutty than usual.

He will be traveling with People to People - If you've never heard of them, check them out here. It is such a great opportunity for kids to travel and learn about the world first hand. We were checking out the hotel accommodations the other night and I was impressed - not a youth hostel in the bunch - not that they will be spending a bunch of time at their hotels - they have a jammed-pack schedule of activities every day.

Needless to say, there hasn't been a whole lot a crafting going on around here (drat!) That will change when Josh is gone - that will be my "therapy" to keep me occupied in his absence.

Q: Guess Who's Having a Birthday??

A: Shannon!

So, of course she gets a hand-made, one-of-a-kind birthday card...

(Sure hope she likes flutterbys & the color purple)

Project Runway - Season 5

I have to confess - I am a Project Runway addict. I can sit and rewatch old episodes (much to my husband's dismayed puzzlement). One episode down, and I already have my favorites (Kelli, Joe, and Daniel) plus my "hit list" of who needs to go.

This was one of my favorite outfits (it's made out of paper towels). Yup, for those of you who are also fans of the show, they went back to the very first challenge - the grocery store for raw materials for the designs.

Christmas in July

I've been seeing and hearing alot about Christmas in July - some people groan out loud at the thought, but I think I'm part elf because it got me planning gifts for my family and designs for greeting cards.

Using one of the recent Split Coast Stampers tutorial, I started tinkering....here's what I came up with.

I still need to come up with adding a sentiment on the inside...er, I mean back of the card.

Wow!

I am impressed!

I've heard of Freecycle, but I've never used it until today - I've been wanting to find a home for some baby stuff that my daughter-in-law didn't need anymore - I posted the add this afternoon and after only a couple of hours I got a positive response!

Well worth checking out!

My Newest Preoccupation

Oh, my goodness! The site is just so jam-packed with fun stuff and WAY so much easier to deal with than MySpace. I already have fourteen friends and I just set up my account yesterday. Really easy to find people you know online.
Anyway - Happy Fourth of July everyone - enjoy your long weekend.

A Creativity Explosion!!

The other night - I was a "card makin' machine". I totally lost track of time and busted out a mess of cards. Here are some photos...

I'm on a kick of creating co-ordianting envelopes along with the cards.

Happy Anniversary to ...

I found the heart charms (with her name spelled correctly - THAT doesn't usually happen) around Christmas-time last year and just couldn't figure out what I wanted to make for them - here's what I finally came up with...a wooden plaque, some card stock, the charms & some sparkle Mod-Podge.

Stevo's Birthday

He's been looking to buy a mountain bike, so I decided to make his card look like it had been run over by one.

A little VersaMark birthday cake on the envelope completed the ensemble
