I know, I know - -
...it's been ten long days since my last post - BELIEVE ME I know!
This is the current condition of my crafting area - please note that the table is nowhere in sight (because it is buried between the love seat and the bookcase - if you look closely you might be able to see the corner of it behind the red blanket.)
Some more supplies - so close and yet so far away! {sigh}
My husband reassured me this morning that the end is in sight (as he handed me a package of brush markers he found on the stairs). The grandkids are across the street helping their daddy unpack the boxes they moved in yesterday afternoon. "You'll have your house back soon" were his exact words and I find myself almost chanting the phrase. Don't get me wrong - I love them all to death - they are an adorable family, I just prefer to adore them from a distance.

Happy Retirement...
A friend of ours is having his retirement party tonight. I've packed up my crafting supplies to a point that I'm not quite sure where everything is, so (being the resourceful mixed media artist that I am) I found a card that I did in a card club which seemed to fit the bill - found some paper to make and envelope {I was able to find the matching stamp set to the card and embellish the envelope a bit} Then I opened up my card making program on the computer and found a cute sentiment for the inside of his card.

I'm really looking forward to this "date night" with my hubby. We are all going more than a little stir-crazy around here.

Really I have been...

We have been very busy around my house lately...our oldest son and his family (five in all, count 'em five) have moved in with us temporarily while they are waiting to move into their house...in fact my granddaughter is sitting on my lap helping me type right now.
Needless to say, there hasn't been a whole lot of crafting going on around here since my crafting room has been turned into a sleeping area for three out of five of our extended family...sometimes all of them wind up on the queen size blowup bed. Anyone know the weight capacity of those things?
;juoiuuytfew (that's hannah helping me type) - Got to go, cuz the house is waking up now.....
I don't have to run away to join the circus, because it moved into my house!!!!

Happy Boss' Day!!!
Yes, today is National Boss' Day. So in honor of this occasion, I made some, well, I'm calling them gum wallets. They were inspired by one we made in stamp club, but I had to increase the size a bit to accommodate a larger package of gum. (the stamps are two I got with my TAC grab bag.)

Ahoy, Matey!
My pirate name is:
Mad Ethel Kidd

Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!

What?!? Reliable?? I could buckle a swash - really I could, if I had one or even knew what it was....

A Blast from My Past
So, I was looking through one of my crafting bins for photographs of dream catchers that my husband and I made many moons ago and I came upon these:
I had forgotten about these babies, but seeing them again caused a flood of fond memories - you see, our youngest (Josh) tried cub scouts for a year when we lived down in Texas. Being the fully involved mommy person that I am, I went to all the meetings and was eventually invited to help run the activities. (I guess they figured if I wasn't going to go away, they might as well put me to work.) Anyway, this was the same year that my husband and I made dream catchers as Christmas gifts for everyone in our family.
Oh, I did find the photographs I was looking for, but I haven't scanned them yet to post.

I'm still here...
Sorry for gap in posting - life has just been happening all around me lately and I've not taken the time to sit down to post anything - - what's even worse, I haven't really been reading any of my favorite blogs {the horror of it all!!!} Until today....I received my email update from Shannon at Stamp Till You Cramp - she has "gone pink" for October for breast cancer awareness month.
It took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to do it, but TA DA - I've gone pink too!
